At Bosch, join our mission to create AI agents for building efficient and safe autonomous decision-making systems. These agents, trained using safe reinforcement learning algorithms, will be utilized across various fields of the Bosch group, such as mobility solutions, automated driving, HVAC systems, MEMS and IoT applications. As a member of our team, you'll play a key role in improving state-of-the-art model capabilities by contributing to research and core-systems of our clients.

• As an AI Research Scientist at Bosch, you will explore a diverse array of use cases that can significantly benefit from cutting-edge large language models (LLMs), vision language models (VLMs) and AI agents. Your primary focus will be on tailoring these models to specific Bosch applications, e.g., by fine-tuning generic language models using Bosch's proprietary data, and on developing novel AI agents in the Bosch ecosystem.
• You will collaborate closely with various corporate research departments and business units to identify and develop novel applications of AI technologies across Bosch's extensive product and service portfolio.
• In addition, you leverage your entrepreneurial mindset to evaluate, develop and pitch new ideas that can drive innovation within the organization.
• Furthermore, you play a vital role in generating and securing intellectual property through high-quality publications in leading AI journals and conferences.
• You will write clean, efficient and well-documented codes that supports both research initiatives and the transfer of technology to practical applications.
• As part of our team, you shape and influence Bosch's technological development by assessing emerging machine learning technologies and providing strategic insights.
• Last but not least, you work within a dynamic AI department alongside machine learning experts, collaborating with Bosch specialists globally to maximize business impact. You conduct experiments on both our on-premises GPU cluster and cloud infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Education: degree (Master) in Computer Science or related fields and PhD in Machine Learning with focus on large-language models (LLMs), generative AI and agentic AI, including a strong publication record at top AI conferences (ACL, NAACL, EMNLP, ICLR, NeurIPS, ICML, etc.)
• Experience and Knowledge: in-depth research experience in cutting-edge LLM, GenAI, and AI agent methods; proven by excellent publication record in top conferences (clear must have for this position); several years of hands-on prior expertise in developing novel LLM and VLM; knowledge and experience with applying LLMs and VLMs in an industrial context is a plus; advanced programming skills in Python with strong experience in Deep Learning frameworks like Pytorch; experience in collaborative software development and the required tools
• Personality and Working Practice: you are not only an excellent team player you also enjoy international cooperation; you are self-motivated and have the drive to implement the latest research solutions in products and services; your conceptual strength and creativity characterize you
• Enthusiasm: to work in an international team
• Languages: very good in English
