Media & Sponsorship Sales Manager (all genders)
Location: Munich, Berlin or remote within Germany
This is what you'll be doing
In the newly created role of Media & Sponsorship Sales Manager, you will take on the crucial role of acquiring sponsors, advertisers, and partners to help fund and grow kurzgesagt, the leading animated science YouTube channel. Externally, your resourcefulness and experience in building valuable partnerships from zero will expand our network and funding options. Internally, your forethought and organizational skills will ensure that all processes and decisions to facilitate our monetization are on track.
- Identify, initiate, and nurture strategic partnerships with commercial sponsors, foundations, NGOs, and other potential funding sources
- Actively pitch, pursue and acquire sponsors and advertisers, ensuring that those partners share our core values and principles
- Establish and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with partners on a global scale
- Facilitate the development and implementation of a comprehensive sales strategy and marketing portfolios for our YouTube channel and social media platforms
- Identify, prepare and participate in tenders and lead efforts to secure funding
- Develop and oversee the maintenance of a comprehensive database / CRM of prospects and partners
- Create and deliver sales presentations
This is what you bring to the table
- Several years of relevant work experience (e.g. outbound B2B sales, key account management)
- Experience within ad, media & sponsorship sales is a must
- Experience with outbound sales and new customer acquisition
- Proactive, energetic, hands-on personality, who identifies with our brand and thrives making cold calls
- Affinity with science, and ability to assess partnership opportunities for alignment with organizational values
- Experience with international, particularly US-based clients considered a strong asset
- Willingness to travel and engage with partners in the EU and US
- Business fluent in English
- German work permit. Residence in, or willingness to relocate to Munich is considered an asset
