We are looking for a Research Associate (m/f/d) to join the Purification group in the Research & Development Department at Octapharma Biopharmaceuticals. The successful applicant will take on a multifaceted role in a highly motivated team driving lead discovery of single-domain antibody (sdAb, VHH)-based biologics in the fields of Immunology and Hematology. The ideal applicant should have a solid background in protein biochemistry, VHH or antibody development, and be experienced in protein purification and analytics. The successful candidate will contribute to our structural biology pipeline development, be involved in our external lead discovery activities, and support internal purification and computational modelling team efforts with technical and scientific expertise.
The position is available as early as April 2024 at our site in Heidelberg.

What will you be doing as Research Associate?

• Provide technical support for biologics discovery projects, with a strong focus on our sdAb-based lead discovery platform
• Work together with the leading scientist on the development of our structural biology pipeline
• Prepare high-quality protein samples for diverse analytical methods
• Contribute to lead discovery-related outsourcing activities

Who are you?

• You hold a MS degree
• You have first-hand experience in molecular biology, protein biochemistry and structural biology techniques (X-ray crystallography and/or electron cryo-microscopy (cryo-EM))
• You are skilled in diverse purification techniques and protein analytics methods (SDS-PAGE, WB, SEC, affinity measurement, etc)
• Experience in molecular modelling is welcomed
• You are team player and thrive in multidisciplinary, multicultural, dynamic environment
• You have excellent communication skills in English
