Tesla is hiring a (Senior) AI Engineer to architect and ship AI-powered products that redefine how HR operates across the company. You will own the full stack – from LLM-driven production systems to measurable business impact – used by thousands of employees daily.

What You'll Do

• Partner directly with HR leadership and cross-functional teams to identify high-impact opportunities and deliver working software
• Design, build, and maintain AI-powered production systems that solve real HR challenges with measurable bottom-line results
• Drive technical decisions on AI/ML architecture, model selection, and evaluation frameworks
• Apply rigorous engineering practices: version control, testing, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized deployments
• Mentor junior engineers and interns while elevating AI/ML development standards across the team

What You'll Bring

• 3+ years of software engineering experience with a proven track record of shipping production applications
• Hands-on expertise building production LLM systems – including RAG pipelines and agentic frameworks. Familiarity with the Vercel AI SDK is a strong plus
• Strong full-stack skills across TypeScript, Node.js, and React, with the agility to adopt new technologies quickly
• Solid understanding of AI evaluation and monitoring – you know how to measure performance and iterate effectively
• Sharp business intuition: you prioritize ruthlessly, ship solutions that move the needle, and bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience with GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes, and PostgreSQL – ideally including CI/CD and containerized deployments from scratch
• Self-directed, high-agency mindset: you drive projects forward and own outcomes end-to-end
• Excellent English; German is a significant advantage
